Black Creek Art Council Bluejeans And Bbq Festival - Black Creek - Black Creek Arts Council is hosting this weekend event in downtown Hartsville.  Friday evening will be "Anything Butt". Local cooks can share their entrees or desserts with the attendees and receive cash and prizes for "People's Choice" and Celebrity Judge awards. Music, drinks and food.   "I love my jeans contest". Do you look good in blue jeans. Come let the judges decide and win a prize.  Saturday brings South Carolina Barbecue Association judging the "Pork Butt" contest for cookers coming throughout the area on Saturday morning. Attendees may taste the various barbecue made by the cookers starting mid-morning. Cash Prizes will be awarded for 1, 2, & 3rd place winners.

Hartsville's July 4Th Family Fireworks Festival - Hartsville - Will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1001 North Marquis Highway (intersection of US 15 and US 15 Business), just north of Hartsville, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with fireworks at dusk (approx. 9:15).  Enjoy performances by local music groups, dance groups and a patriotic tribute, as well as amusements, such as pony rides, inflatable games, midway games (like a bean bag toss) plus hot dog and pie eating contests. Merchandise and food vendors will fill the courtyard. You can be sure there will be plenty of good food. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax, but no coolers or alcohol, please.  Fireworks at sundown. Admission is free; $1 parking charge.

Battle Reenactments in Historic Brattonsville - Olde English District - The destruction of Huck’s Loyalist force at Williamson’s Plantation on July 12, 1780 helped revive the morale of the people in South Carolina just when British victory seemed inevitable. It served as a rallying point for the backcountry Whigs, and set into motion a series of significant events which eventually led to the even larger Patriot victories at King’s Mountain in October 1780, Cowpens in January 1781, and finally to the British surrender at Yorktown in October 1781.See how soldiers and civilians in the Carolina Piedmont survived the Revolutionary War in the Carolina backcountry.
