Lions Club Food Festival- Appomattox - Sponsored by the Lions Club, this year's annual food festival is slated to be "the largest food festival ever" and will take place in Courtland Field in downtown Appomattox. The expanded menu features lots of menu items to please everyone (chicken, pork chops, ribeye steaks, hamburgers, hotdogs, shrimp, lots of assorted veggies and salads, fresh fruit, and numerous desserts), plus your choice of cold beverages (tea, soft drinks, or beer). Historic Appomattox Railroad Festival- Appomattox - Held the second full weekend in October, the annual Appomattox Railroad Festival commemorates the Norfolk & Southern railroad's donation of the Appomattox Depot to the Town of Appomattox.
